Corporate Social Responsibility
Our CSR programme has three key areas:
CSR is extremely important to us and we are passionate about supporting charities that are close to our hearts. Our team is actively involved in volunteering, raising funds for and promoting the work of several local, national and World Wide charities. We have key events throughout the year where our people are empowered to give both their time and their skills.
Our 2018/19 nominated charities are the Seashell Trust and WWF World Wildlife Fund, adopt a tiger.
Our firm support the Seashell Trust in a partnership that was voted for by our employees. The Seashell Trust is a national charity supporting children and young adults with complex learning difficulties and additional communication needs from across the UK.
We are members of ‘WWF-UK’ , the world’s leading independent conservation organisation whose mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together. WWF are pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our planet.

We are also sponsors of ADOPT A TIGER
The tiger is offically classed as endangered by the IUCN and over the last century, wild tiger numbers have plummeted by over 95%.
Aside from our chosen charities, we encourage our people to volunteer their time and skills to causes they care about,
Our lawyers undertake a wide range of pro bono legal advice as part of their commitment to the wider community and there is a real sense of giving back. This ranges from sorting out leases for local scout huts, assisting schools to advising various sporting clubs.
Several of our team have a particular passion for rugby and through coaching they hope to inspire and empower the young people to live their dreams, encourage upskill with practical mentoring and development programmes.

We are committed to minimising our carbon footprint by ensuring we consider the environmental impact of our work at all times and use our resources efficiently to alleviate unnecessary waste. This aligns with one of the firms strategic objectives of having an outstanding working environment for our people, clients and community at large.
The following initiatives have been introduced and are encouraged where possible.
Power off electronics
Our employees are encouraged to power down their computers, shutting them completely. Other electronics are also shut down overnight including printers, copiers and air conditioning.
Reduce paper waste
We continue to make great strides toward ‘going paperless’. We have invested large amounts of money into our innovative technology systems which enable us to achieve this. When printing is required, we ensure double sided printing is set as a default. All paper waste is disposed of confidentially and recycled and staff are encouraged to reuse ‘scrap-paper’ for message taking rather than purchasing message pads.
Provide filtered water
We discourage the use of plastic water bottles at desks and promote the use of a reusable cup which can be filled from the filtered water provided.
Switch to Lightbulbs
We have installed energy efficient lighting that automatically switches off through automatic sensors when out of use.
We have introduced flexible working arrangements for our consultants including working remotely some of the time which assists in reducing the energy used in the office and reducing traveling.
Indoor plants – improve the air quality
Indoor plants can help clean the air, are more aesthetically pleasing to the eye and assist in removing contaminants.
Reduce business travel
Travel remains an important part of our business. However, where possible we actively encourage telephone and video conferencing, or when it is unavoidable, we endeavour to use our time wisely and see more clients at the location.
